Executive Director since 1997, Marilyn Stolzman is a licensed therapist, a Somatic Experiencing practitioner, and a National Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. Dr. Stolzman has a private practice in Woodland HIlls, CA. She has conducted bereavement support and cancer support groups since 1982. Among the institutions at which Dr. Stolzman has taught Psychology classes are: Ryokan College, Phillips Graduate Institute, University of Judaism, and California State University - Northridge. She has presented at the American Institute of Medical Education Conferences in Europe, Asia and the United States.

Jo Christner, Psy.D is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (California PSY15532 and Washington PY 2971). She is also a Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist (California MFC2960 and Pennsylvania MF381). With over 20 years of experience in private practice, Dr. Christner has extensive experience working with a variety of individuals and businesses with problems of adult life including:
issues of bereavement and loss, trauma, time management/stress related issues, geriatrics, depression and anxiety. She utilizes an eclectic approach with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral and body psychotherapy as a way to holistically treat each individual's needs.
As a long-time member of the H.O.P.E. Unit Foundation therapeutic staff, Dr. Christner has facilitated a variety of groups, and specializes in loss. She is the Past President of the Group Psychotherapy Association, is currently an active member of various professional associations and is committed to staying abreast of the most current changes in the field of psychotherapy and psychology. |

Bonnie Lee Ban is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 30 years experience in private practice working with individuals, families and groups. Born and educated in Southern California at UCLA and UC Berkeley, she has worked throughout the United States as an educator and clinician with a focus on issues of loss and transition. She uses a variety of therapeutic tools and approaches with an integration of body, mind, and transpersonal aspects that best fits each person. A lifetime member of both the state and national professional organizations, she is committed to the development of her psychotherapeutic skills. She has been a bereavement specialist for the last decade and has worked at H.O.P.E. for several years. Married for 28 years to Michael Ban and proud parents of a grown daughter, Rachel, who shares her passion for psychological growth and well-being.

Kiene is a licensed psychotherapist and a registered art therapist. She has 25 years experience in supportive services working with both individuals and their families. Kiene is a strong advocate for the care and support of the severely mentally ill and the education and support of their families and caregivers. She specializes in group therapy using both verbal and art modalities. Most recently, a primary caregiver for her 90-year-old mother who struggles with Dementia, a volunteer with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and a facilitator with the H.O.P.E. Unit Foundation.

Neil Miller received his Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. His training also includes completion of an Extension Series at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles. He is currently on the staff at Gateways Hospital and Mental Health Center in Los Angeles, where he conducts individual, family and group psychotherapy with clients in the forensic field. Neil's primary theoretical and clinical interest is the integration of Buddhism and Western psychology. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and of the Group Psychotherapy Association of Los Angeles.
